Occupemo (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights over your information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use Occupemo:

  • Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Apple, we receive only what Apple provides (email and name, subject to your sharing preferences).
  • Task and schedule data: The tasks you create, their details (name, duration, urgency, category), and the schedules generated from them. This data is stored in your account and synced across your devices.
  • Usage data: Information about how you interact with the app, such as which features you use, how many schedules you generate, and your completion rates. This is used to improve the product.
  • Subscription information: Whether you are a Plus subscriber, when your subscription expires, and whether you own a Lifetime plan. The actual payment transaction is handled entirely by Apple — we never see or store your payment details.
  • Device information: Basic technical details such as your iOS version and device model, used for debugging and compatibility purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Occupemo app and website.
  • Sync your data across your devices (iOS app and web).
  • Verify your Plus subscription status and unlock the appropriate features.
  • Send transactional emails (e.g., email verification, password reset). We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
  • Analyse aggregate, anonymised usage patterns to understand how students use scheduling features and inform product decisions.
  • Respond to support requests you send us.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Occupemo:

  • Supabase: Our backend database and authentication provider. Your account data, tasks, and schedules are stored in Supabase infrastructure. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified. See Supabase’s Privacy Policy.
  • Apple App Store / StoreKit: All in-app purchases are processed by Apple. We receive only the result of a purchase (success/failure) and entitlement status. Apple’s Privacy Policy governs payment processing.
  • Google Fonts: Our web app loads the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. Google may log your IP address. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer (e.g., for financial records related to a purchase). Anonymised, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
  • Portability: Request an export of your task and schedule data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to certain types of processing, such as analytics.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Row-Level Security on our database (enforced by Supabase), and token-based authentication. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable precautions.

7. Children’s Privacy

Occupemo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Occupemo after any change constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
